Make a Difference Award winner - Phil Riches

Several years ago the Parish Council approved the use of some of BMAT's land for part of the 'Scenic Green Trail'. After a lot of hard work by local resident, Phil Riches and several others, including staff from MBC and KCC, the walking trail has now become official. The whole route is 42 miles long and connects many beautiful and nature rich sites around Maidstone.

Phil has recently been recognised for all his hard work by winning the Environment section of the BBC Make a Difference Awards. This award is richly deserved as the trail was Phil's idea and he saw it through to completion in just a few years.
